Nissan Triples Up On Concepts At 2026 SEMA Show

Nissan Armada Patrol Concept

Nissan has shown three rugged concepts at the 2026 Specialty Equipment Marketing Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas this week.

The brand is showing concepts for versions of the Frontier, Pathfinder, and Armada at the convention center in Sin City.

Nissan Frontier Ronin Concept

Nissan Frontier Ronin

Let’s start with the Nissan Frontier Ronin Concept. The name means “masterless warrior” in Japanese, and is also a nod to a movie with arguably the greatest car chase ever put to cinema. The truck itself is a high-performance off-road rig that has a twin-turbocharged version of the Frontier’s 3.8-liter V6. In this use, the engine puts out more horsepower, though Nissan doesn’t say how much. Nissan widens the track by a foot and lifts the truck over four inches before fitting it with 35-inch Yokohama Geolandar X-AT tires on 17-inch beadlock wheels.

From there, Nissan raids its NISMO parts bin for off-road accessories and parts such as rock sliders, driving lights, a spare-tire carrier, and a big-brake kit. Inside, the Ronin gets sport bucket seats, custom seatbelts with topographic map detailing, and additional gauges.

Nissan Pathfinder XE-V6 Concept

This one has a retro feel in a nod to the original Pathfinder. There’s the XE-V6 badging and the retro-inspired paint job.

It also brings the goods with a four-inch lift kit, Geolandar off-road tires, 18-inch NISMO wheels, high-clearance off-road bumpers, roof rack, and swing-out rear spare-tire carrier that can hold a full-size spare.

Just like the original, the current Pathfinder uses V6 power, and the XE points to the original’s V6 motor.

Nissan Armada Jungle Patrol Concept

This Armada is built to remind folks of expedition vehicles used out tin the field or on safari. So there’s an open roof, roll cage, and inward-facing seats. Plus monster 37-inch Geolandar tires, steel bumpers, longer suspension travel, off-road lights, and fender flares.

Tim’s Take

SEMA is the place for off-road concepts most years, and Nissan is joining Jeep with the hard-core off-road trims. A production version of that Frontier would be cool, though it seems unlikely. I could see a world in which a watered-down version of that Pathy gets built as a special collector’s trim. The Armada seems like a flight of fancy only.

Yeah, none of these concepts are likely to make production — and let’s not forget that they are probably just a NISMO parts-bin showcase — but if one of the did, I would love it to be that Frontier.
